Max Toy Company will be dropping several exclusives and special editions at the STRANGEco booth. Artist and Max Toy owner Mark Nagata will be in the booth on Friday, July 25th — it’s not a signing per se but we’re pretty sure he’ll be more than happy to sign one of your toy purchases. Mark’s got alot of super limited Kaiju goodness in store for SD. Let’s start.
First we’re going to pimp our favorite — the Max Toy x Cronic Tripasu shown above. This is the first edition of the fig to drop. Designed by Mark Nagata and sculpted by Naoki-san of Cronic this 100% Japanese vinyl beast was hand-painted by Mark himself. Less than 20 of these sweet figs will be at SDCC. Don’t snooze on these — you’ll be very sorry.
Next up is a GID Booksa which will debut at SDCC. Less than 40 pieces of the GID version of Martin Ontiveros’ updated homage will be available at the show. Speaking of GID, Mark will drop two versions of his sweet Boy Karma fig — a GID and a black, both limited to 30 pieces.
Max toy will round things off with two hand-painted vinyls by Mark Nagata. First, there’s his hand-painted gold Eyezon. There will be less than 20 of these at the show. Finally, Mark’s also doing a super-limited drop (5 pieces) of his hand painted edition of the Pharaohs figure from Rumble Monsters. After the jump pics of each figure.

Tim Tsui provided the biggest ‘wow’ moment of the show IMO with the unveiling of his brand new Da Fighter figure – the first in his new fighter series. This thing is huge (wide) and very funky – the tribal patterns, the horned shoulder armor, the bling collar, the red transparent left claw and mace. Oh and did we mention, that it’s a wolf and not an ape? Great stuff.
The colorway shown here was for sale at TTF for about $100. It’s limited to 150 pieces total – 50 for TTF, 50 for SDCC and 50 for his online store. It sounds like the fighter series is Tim’s alternate mostly non-ape series. While Tim usually ships his ape figures in a cloth bag, he’s gone for a flashier silver heavy bag for Da Fighter (pic after the jump). Oh if you’re wondering why Da Fighter was launched so soon after Da Warrior — the answer is that Da Warrior took much longer to produce than expected which resulted in the bunched up releases. Sounds like the TTF supply is sold out.
Tim also dropped his Sharky from ToyQube – really slick. It was going for 2000 nt (about $60). It will likely be available at SDCC. It comes with a cool banana accessory that fits nicely into the aquatic carnivore’s jagged teeth. And if you’re wondering, there will be at least one more edition but that’s all we could pry loose — well, we didn’t want to pry too hard
Tim is also offering a new ape head key chain/lighter topper (400 nt, about $13).
Finally, Tim dropped a custom Da Warrior in black, gold and red. It sold within the first few hours (~ $400) – not surprising given that Tim rarely does one-off customs for sale. More pics after the jump.

Not only is Attaboy going to release his The Pound figure, but will also have an cornucopia of hand painted goodies. Available at the Attaboy/Hi-Fructose booth (#4939) will be custom Neighborwoods figures each coming with a hand painted box. Also available will be two faced custom Munny’s which will look stellar from either sides. Attaboy will also be releasing three new skatedecks which of each gives a great display of his artwork and lets you take some of his artwork home. Those of you who want a small original piece not as a custom, he will also have available small paintings on glass. Just when you thought that was all, there are still a few secret surprises yet to be announced. Be sure look out for more word from Attaboy.

The newest edition of Kathie’s in-demand two-figure set is limited to 150 pieces and will go for $150 each. Since it’s limited to just 150 pieces, MINDstyle will offer 25 per day (Th-Su) by way of a random drawing for the right to buy each morning with the results posted at Noon. On preview night, it’s first come first serve. Art Toy Society (ATS) members will be able to pre-order the figure

Rocketworld’s Insurgent Wilderness Gruppo (I.W.G) warriors have always taken it to lazy, wasteful and careless humans. Now, they’re ready to fight the evil-doing homo sapiens all over the planet and beyond. Here’s the first look at the painted I.W.G. Astro Krieg minis (3.5” tall) — Titus the Grizzly Bear, Affonso the White Rhino and Hannibal the Mountain Guerilla. These hand-painted protos look awesome (the final editions will have colorway specific bubble helmets).
The Astro Krieg warriors will be available in three main colorways – Covert Space Pirate Black w/Laser Green Bubble Helmet, Classic Galactic Silver w/Ice Clear Bubble Helmet and New World Eco-Green with Laser Orange Bubble Helmet. Each cosmically-inclined warrior is ready for battle with their armored hunter space suits, bubble helmets, removable Jet Pack, Eco-Dyne Death Ray Pistols and Human-Skull Trophies. Each is good to go as a pilot in the I.W.G. Rocket Ship and the Astro Krieg Flying Saucer Attack Craft.
There’s also an SDCC exclusive Moon GID w/Ice Clear Bubble Helmet version of each of the three figures (100 pieces each). The Astro Krieg minis will debut at SDCC in Rocketworld’s booth (#4633) and retail for $13.95 in window-boxes.
We’re excited about these and looking forward to seeing the fully finished figures including the Jet Packs. More pics after the jump.
