Luke Chueh X Power Ranger

Power Ranger Rabbotto is Luke Chueh’s 2nd figure for Intheyellow’s Kaiju for Grownups line (KFGU). The followup of sorts to Mecha Sad Bear invokes the now ubiquitious Power Rangers – a band of five warriors who thanks to the wonder (or is that horror?) of remixing have found new life battling Japanese monsters for the enjoyment of American audiences.

Luke’s design goal for Power Ranger Rabbotto was to strike a balance between the genre inspiration and his own art – without one overpowering the other. So while the 70’s bad-ass kitsch comes through, the face and the ears put the Chueh stamp on the design.

Power Ranger Rabbotto is due in ‘09 and will naturally be available in five colorways: Red, Blue, Black, Yellow and Pink.

Luke Chueh - Photo Contest

Today is the day… In about an hour (11 AM PDT), Fully Visual will release Luke Chueh’s limited-edition metal Shit Head figure. We’ve seen these in person, and they rule! As with previous FV releases, it’s limited to 100 pieces with 1 golden chase.

But… what if you can’t get one in the mad rush ? We’re pretty sure these will fly off the virtual shelves. And with these tough economic times, maybe you’d love one but can’t afford it. Whatever the case, we’re stoked to announce that Fully Visual is generously sponsoring a photo contest with the winner receiving a Shit Head metal figure.

Entering is pretty straight forward. Shoot an original photograph that represents Fully Visual and/or Vinyl Pulse. Make it creative, funny, wild, scary – it just has to scream Fully Visual and/or VP. Then just upload it to the newly created photo contest gallery in the Vinyl Pulse community (you’ll need to register if you haven’t already). The deadline to enter is Tuesday, November 4th @ 8 PM PST.

Luke Chueh’s Mecha Sad Bear in Glossy Black

Intheyellow is about to drop the third edition of Luke Chueh’s Mecha Sad Bear — this time in glossly back with red eyes. The combination of black (especially glossy) + red is tried and true and looks really nice. The first two color schemes played up the ‘bot aspect with metallic paint jobs (silver and gold) — good to see some variation here rather than doing nothing but metallic hues. The 6″ Glossy Black Mecha Sad Bear is limited to just 150 pieces and will drop in mid-may with a suggested retail of approximately $66.00
