MINDstyle will drop their SDCC exclusive Benny and Red Bird Cool Edition by Kathie Olivas at their booth (#4249) throughout the show. The newest edition of Kathie’s in-demand two-figure set is limited to 150 pieces and will go for $150 each. Since it’s limited to just 150 pieces, MINDstyle will offer 25 per day (Th-Su) by way of a random drawing for the right to buy each morning with the results posted at Noon. On preview night, it’s first come first serve. Art Toy Society (ATS) members will be able to pre-order the figure

New House Of Liu Custom Show

Summer ‘08 is shaping up to be the the summer of customs with several recent show announcements. Next up — Veggiesomething’s House of Liu. The series produced by Crazy Label has drawn in collectors with a blend of deceptively simple design with ever-popular ancient asian themes. The House of Liu Custom Show opens on August 22nd at APW Gallery in NYC and runs through September 4th.

There’s a strong lineup for this show including Peskimo, JamFactory, Julie West, DGPH, Shin Tanaka, MCA, Jim Koch, Nanospore, Ken Keirns, Shawnimals, Lou Pimentel, Sichi, Charuca, Bounce, Filter017, Shon Side, Sneaky Raccoon, Squee, Escape76, Revise CMW, Peabe, Joey Potts, Yunicorn, Joey D, Jose Garibaldi, Blutt, Fathom, Flip, Yoink, Stizo, Leaders 1354, OsirisOrion, Coolvader, Boxguts, C.
