Suck Lord’s bringing his bootleg goodness to the West Coast for Raiders of the Lost Art with two
Indiana Jones inspired customs. First up is his Attackers of the Missing Stuff — a self-bootlegged Suckadelic 600 done Indy style — painted up gold with a ‘whip’, hat, a golden idol (boombox style). And… slipping back to his bootlegging ways he’s also throwing down with TOHT Day Glo Bootleg featuring a hot pink edition of Kenner’s figure complete with comic-book mash up blister packaging in wood frame (what? upscale man). Each show piece is $250. Come out for Raiders of the Lost Art on May 31st for the show. Click through for TOHT.

Muttpop is bringing Tequila back… Fresh from Jerry Frissen’s blog is a look at an early proto test of Tequila Classico. Sounds like they’ve definitely made tweaks to it since. Muttop also recently revealed the new tequila box — stunning, done in a fresh comic-inspired style.

Michael Motorcyle took his art on the road (and how) for the ATP Explosions show @ Minehead (UK) this past weekend. Along with all the festivities, came Michael’s Dolbee — the third edition of the figure to be released so far. [Spied on Clutter's Flickr].

Lately news on Vinyl Pulse has taken on an international flair beyond the normal players. Israel,
Brazil, and now Korea. Good to see. Korean company Delitoys has just launched their OUIP DIY platform in Korea. The concept draws inspiration from a lightbulb for the head shape. OUIP will be available in a standard white as well as GID versions in an 8″ size to be followed with a 2.5″ version. While Delitoys has plans for Kinkirobot to distribute OUIP in Korea, the brand is still looking for distribution stateside.
Platforms are essential and yet rarely sexy or exciting. It’s the nature of the beast. The difficulty of creating an original yet fleixble platform looms large. In this case, the lightbulb concept reminds us of Rolito’s Black Polito to some extent. Then again, it’s not exactly an exotic shape. Few platforms have proved to have staying power. Perhaps OUIP’s move away from an anthormorphized animal will catch on. Click through for flat art of OUIP along with turnarounds.
